Made To Order, Made With Love, Made To Last.

At the core of JD Lee Furniture, we design pieces with the intention to last.

Deep ecology is an environmental philosophy based on the belief that humans must radically change their relationship to nature from one that values it solely for its usefulness, to one that recognises the inherent value of nature itself.

Every piece that passes through our hands is given this consideration. Honouring the beauty of the materials we work with, we begin at the end, addressing first longevity by taking responsibility to only create with integrity.

At the core of JDLee Furniture, we design pieces with the intention to last. We recognise that the most responsible thing we could all do for the planet is buy less – or to buy once and buy well. Echoing this nobility, our collection is exclusively MADE TO LAST.

It is for this reason that our collection is entirely MADE TO ORDER.

When you purchase from our collection, you set an intention to initiate a piece that will soon be adopted into your home and become part of the fabric of your everyday life.

We hope to help facilitate a greater relationship with our clients and be there to guide them through a more thoughtful experience of selecting furniture that is right for them. Even if it means reworking our designs to better suit our client’s needs.

Longevity is always our key consideration.

From the design process to the sourcing, machining and finishing, a holistic approach is taken to ensure minimal environmental impact. It is our intention that our pieces become heirloom, passed from one generation to the next and that our designs hold enough integrity to allow this.

The ancient art of woodwork is a slow and practical process. Handmade furniture is a craft that draws on knowledge gained from years of experience, it is the same practice today as it was hundreds of years ago.

We design timeless pieces and avoid interior trends. Perhaps it’s the propensity to redecorate over and over that leads us to make poor choices, purchasing furniture made from inferior materials which not only affects our own homes but overflows to landfill as well.

Essentially, it is love for this craft that keeps us passionate about creating. And it’s true that every single piece is MADE WITH LOVE.

Working with wood is like a partnership, an intimate process with love and care imbued every step of the way. We hope that this love permeates in the homes they destined for.
